Christmas Present
Michael's Christmas present came in the mail today (shhhhh!) Of course, we couldn't resist playing with it for a minute before we wrapped it up and put it under the tree!:)
Don't worry, I fought the urge to purchase the purple one. I thought he'd like blue better;)
Erica' Wedding
I don't know WHAT is wrong with me. My lovely sister-in-law, Erica, got married in July and it occurred to me that I NEVER posted any pictures on my blog! I'm sorry, Erica. Here are a few of my favorites from the wedding:)

Kaylee's Beau
While we were at my mom's house Kaylee pulled me into the guest bedroom to meet her "boyfriend".
"This is my new boyfriend, mom!"
I think she's got herself quite a catch!

Self Portrait
Here is my self portrait assignment. As I thought about his assignment I realized it wouldn't make sense for me to do a self portrait without my children. I go by the name, Mom, 99% of the time. Every hour of everyday is spent teaching, helping, thinking of, and caring for my kids. I think sometimes women with young children lose their identities in a sort of way and I think it's okay. They are not who they once were. Once you become a mother, you become a whole new person. But maybe its not so much losing an identity as it is gaining a new one.
I love this photo because it shows my life as it is. Half naked kids, toys all over the place, messy hair, and happiness. When I think about my life, this is the picture I see, and I love it.

BORSCHT
Its as bad as it sounds. We had Borscht for dinner. And the family was not impressed. I told the girls we were having "Pink Soup" for dinner. Bad Mommy. Lily had a sip and turned her nose right up. With Kaylee's first bite she happily exclaimed, "THIS IS THE BEST SOUP EVER!!!" I was really happy.... until she took another bite, pushed her bowl away and said, "I don't like it anymore"
Besides me, Riley was the only person to take more than a few bites; even Michael couldn't stomach more than two spoonfuls. I was a big girl and ate my whole bowl. My stomach still hurts.
I dont know what possessed me to make Borscht. I do think there may be some good recipes out there, but mine. was. not. Although it was disgusting, it sure was pretty to look at:)
These pictures are NOT doing it justice. It looks red here but I swear the color was a lovely deep magenta.
