so stylish

This is what Lily wore to school today. I almost tried to talk her out of it because I would never dress her in this outfit, but then I decided to be grateful that she enjoys dressing herself and accessorizing. Someday she'll get it:)

She got a little nervous when we pulled up to the school and wanted to take her hat off. I told her it looked super cute and that I was so happy she was brave enough to wear it. She left it on but only ended up wearing it for part of the day because she said that some of the kids were laughing at her. Darn them.

I love this cute, pink, girly princess and I'm glad she's mine.

a good night

Lily falling asleep while reading Harry Potter made me really happy tonight for about 2.5 minutes.

Then Mallory peed her pants and left a giant puddle on our unfinished wood stairs.

Matthew screamed and cried and threatened to fall down said stairs the whole time I cleaned the treads and bathed Mallory.

Oh, well. At least I get to go to bed now.

Just kidding! I still have a dishwasher to load and about 15 loads of laundry to fold.

The end

delight

My Mallory.

Yes, she really is this delightful all the time. It's a pleasure and a joy to be her mother!

We were on our way to the grocery store one evening and I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the light was. I turned my car around and got my camera from my house. Mallory was more than happy to oblige to an impromptu photo shoot. Here are a million photos of the most darling toddler in all the universe (messy hair and all).

First Day of School, First Day of School!

School started last week! We have a 3rd grader, a 2nd grader, and a Kindergartener!

eeeek!

Kaylee was nervous and said, "I don't want to be a Second Grader! I want to be in first grade forever! I want to go back to Mrs. Ricks class because she's the nicest teacher in the whole wooooorld!!!"
When she came home from her very first day of school she said, "I LOVE SECOND GRADE! I want to be in Second Grade forEVERRRRRrrrr because Mrs. Thanyne is SO NICE! She's the nicest teacher in the whole worrrrld!!!" Success.

Lily was not nervous at all about school. She had never met Mrs. Denney before and when she came home she said, "Some kids say that Mrs. Denney is the nicest and best teacher in the whole school. I think she is too."

Riley had to wait all the way until 11:30 to start school. All morning long (about 76 times) she kept saying,

"I'm excited"
"Mom, I'm excited"
"Mom, I'm really excited"
"I'm so excited, Mom"

Good golly, it was cute.

and here are some photos:

We can't forget about these two!
