l.o.v.e.

I taught the girls how to play "war" last night. Mallory giggled and giggled as she watched them play. The other girls thought it was so funny every time she laughed and pretty soon all four of them were laughing uncontrollably. Nothing fills my heart with more love than seeing my children laugh and play together.

little girl fashion blogging.

Call it ugly.
but I LOVE this hand-me-down jacket that came from a family in our ward.
It's a size two but it makes a perfect little blazer for Lily.

A lot of times I let Lily pick her own clothes for school; the ending results are usually quite...
interesting.

Michael scolded me on day and told me I need to teach them how to pick their own clothes out and be cute at the same time.

Who would have guessed that he is the one in our relationship that cares about what the girls are wearing?

Anyway, I was so proud of myself for putting this cute outfit together.
Okay, so it's not much, but you guys! I don't "put outfits together"!

I thought maybe I'd be motivated to dress Lily super cute every day if I took pictures and blogged about it.
These pictures are from three weeks ago.
woops.

BUT! I got the trademark looking-at-feet and jumping-in-air fashion blogger photos.
oh yeah.

oh, and OF COURSE the hand-on-hip!

And here is what Mallory wore:

and I never bother dressing this little girl because she changes her outfit 36 times a day.

hedgehog

I found this picture of Sonic the Hedgehog on the kitchen table.
Lily drew it.
I think it's really cute.

(i just now -as in this very second- discovered that she actually traced over a drawing that andrew made. suddenly I'm not as impressed. haha. oh well)

Now We Are Six

I didn't want to do the whole Bring-Cupcakes-To-Class thing so instead Lily and I made these little strawberry favors to give to her class-mates. We filled them with Reese's Pieces. Lily was soooo excited to hand them out at school the next day.

I made a tulle pom pom garland for a birthday decoration. It was so easy and sooo fun to make and I love love LOVE it. It's so beautiful I want one in every room! Tutorial here.

and  here she is; the SIX year old!

What can I say about Lily? She is such a happy little girl. Her smile fills her entire face. Her giggle is contagious. She is a joy to be around. Lily LOVES to read and I love to watch her as she excitedly turns the pages of her books, thrilled that she can finally read the words on them. Lily is such a patient and wonderful big sister. She is so kind and caring toward Mallory. She is always willing to hold her and rock her when she's fussy.  Lily also loves to do chores. She is so helpful in every way. I am so blessed to be her momma.

I can't believe she's six years old. I can feel time rushing past me. I don't want to take a single moment for granted.

4 months

I love going through old journal entires...

In February of last year the girls and I took a trip to California.
A few days after we got home I wrote in my journal.

"The night I got back from CA the suspicion that I might be expecting another baby was confirmed.

That's right!

Baby #4  is coming to the Floyd family in November!

At first I was nervous and afraid. But I am faithful and I know the Lord will provide. He will provide us with the means and he will provide me with energy and sanity:)

I am very excited to be a mommy again."

After I read this in my journal I walked over to her swing where she is still sleeping. I looked at her precious little face and I thought:
Here she is in real life! A year ago she was a tiny little gummy bear in my belly! Now she's a four month old baby!

I spoke to her, "There you are, Mallory!  My sweet baby girl who I can hold and kiss and squeeze whenever I want!"

She smiled at me as she slept.
She is wonderful.
She is perfect.
Life is truly a miracle.

Here she is on her 4 month birthday.
