Happy Trails

Michael and I went on a trail ride today. The school offers rides as one of the activities. It was so fun! I rode on a horse named OREO and Michael's horse was named FLEET. Its a slow, leisurely ride but it was nice and relaxing. Plus the scenery was gorgeous! Anyway, Michael took this pic with his phone, he didn't want me to post the one I took of him... haha, oh well:)

Bear River

Add Image

We spent Sunday evening and all of Monday in Bear River. My Grandpa Varge was asked to give a speech at Bear River's annual Memorial Day service. He did a lovely job! His friend, who also happens to be a girl (wink), travelled up with him. Her name is Cecil, she is a lovely lady.

Bear River is only about 2 1/2 hours from Rexburg so we decided to go down and be with him while her was there. Geri and our friend Katy came with us. My dad, Emma and Andrew decided to come at the last minute. So did my Aunt and Uncle, Amy and Clark, and their family. It was like a mini-family reunion! I'm pretty sure we are related to half the people in that town by some way or another:) It was so much fun to be with our family! We had the BEST time!
My grandpa has remained very close to his brother and sisters over the years and its has given us the wonderful opportunity to grow up knowing them and the ability to spend time with them and their children and their grandchildren. I feel so blessed to be part of such a wonderful family! I love being with my grandparents and my great-aunts and uncles. I love listening to their stories. They have so much to share and to teach!

I wish I had more pictures of the whole group but I forgot my camera! I was so disappointed! Luckily Katy had hers and shared her pictures with me. Somehow she left out all the pictures of herself though! You little stinker, Katy!!!

This is what I get for letting Geri watch the girls! Haha. It was all cleaned up before we even got home:)

Pictures of May

Here are (quite) a few pictures of this month. I never blogged about Mother's Day. I had a lovely day beginning with breakfast in bed! Yumm. I love being a mother. Its the best thing to ever be. I look at my girls and just feel so much love and joy in my heart! Its amazing how such tiny little people can make you so happy!

Pretty pretty princess. Notice the egg beater? She wanted me to make something for her to "lick" off.

Anyone who know me knows that I loooove sleeping photos!

They were being really mean to eachother, so I made them hold hands and sing "I Love You" (aka the Barney song!) The first time they laughed the whole time and I thought it would make a cute pic. But the second time they both bawled. It was kind of funny:)

Geri had the fabulous idea of making these little egg carton masks for the girls. It was so funny!

These are all pictures of our trip to the park the other day. The weather is getting sooo nice. I love Rexburg in the summertime. AND the SPLASH PARK opens on Monday! You have no idea how excited I am!

The girls in their Easter dresses. Grandma Howe bought these and one of the little dress stands at the mall. Soooo cute!

These girls loooove their daddy!

American Idol

Who is watching AMERICAN IDOL! I wasn't going to watch it this year but I am so glad I did! I just love these two. I am not a fan of Adam Lambert's "guyliner" but he is SUCH an amazingly talented singer. And Kris is just so adorably cute and also very talented. My favorite songs fom the whole season are ones that they sang. My fav was when Adam Lambert sang "Mad World" and a close second was when Kris sang "Aint No Sunshine" If you want to listen, they are the first two tracks on my playlist! Just click and listen!!! :)
Personally I think Adam will win tonight. But we'll see:) Of course I want be sad if Kris wins. Whatever the outcome, I am definitely a fan of BOTH!

i just want to see if i can send two pix at once.

LILY

Okay so Lily is very good about being obedient. ESPECIALLY if I have to start counting to three. There is no hesitation (usually) and it pleases me very much:)
However, sometimes she thinks she can use the Counting Strategy on me! For instance, earlier this afternoon she told me that she wanted some ice cream. I asked her to wait a few minutes while I finished washing the dishes in the sink. She told me again that she would like some ice cream and when I aked her to wait a minute she very calmly said, "mom, I am counting to three and then you are going to be in trouble." WHAT?! Of course all I could do was laugh. She counted, but she still had to wait for me to finish the dishes. And I didn't get in trouble:)
A little while later I her her tattling on Kaylee for something. She was talking to Michael and said, "Can you spank her now, dad?" hahaha. Oh Lily, that's just not how it works! I should tell you that we do NOT spank our children very often. They have to really act up to get one of those. Usually we do time outs, or our newest thing for Lily is standing in the corner. But like I said, when I start to count she shapes up in a hurry, so we don't give very many time outs either:)
Oh and ONE more thing. We played at the park a few days ago and Lily played with a little girl. Unbeknownst to us, her name was also Lily! Her daddy came to get her and said "come on Lily, it's time to go" My Lily looked at him and said very frankly, "I'm not going with you. I'm going home!" It was really funny but at the same time its a serious thing and I am so glad that she knows not to go anywhere with a person who she doesn't know!Anyway, those are my Lily stories for the day. I am going to put some photos up soon... Hopefully!

Embarrassed

Okay, can I just say how embarrassed I have been feeling this morning???! I took a shower last night and the soap we have been using has little scrubbing beads in it. Well I got the stupid little things in both of my eyes while I was washing my face. I spent the next couple of hours rubbing my eyes and trying to make them tear up so I could cry the beads out. It wasn't very fun. Fast forward to this morning. I was sleeping on the floor in the living room with Riley (our sleeping situation was a little messed up last night) and I heard rummaging in our storage closet on our front porch. I looked out the window and it was our friend, Caleb. I ran back to my bedroom because I wasn't properly dressed, I had just woken up! While I was in my room throwing clothes on I heard him knock on the door. I opened it up and talked to him for a few minutes. While I was talking to him I felt like my right eye was trying to close itself. I thought it was probably a little swollen from last night. Well, Caleb left and I went to the bathroom to look in the mirror. A little swollen??? Oh my HECK. Both of my eyes were beyond puffy. I looked like a freak! Hace you seen Hitch? Remember the part where he has an allergic reaction to his food? Yeah. That was me this morning. Not to mention that I went to bed with wet hair last night so that was a frizzed out curly mess.
Now, I usually don't really care how I look. Otherwise I would not have opened the door after just waking up. No one looks their best when they roll out of bed. But today, I cared. Had I know I looked that freaky I would have never opened the door! Caleb probably thinks Michael is a great guy for waking up to that every morning! haha!
We are actually really sad right now because Caleb and Kendra are moving. We've had a lot of fun hanging out with them and the girls looove their boys, Daxon and Graham. Its going to be sad not having them around any more!!
